Leslie Hassler grew up in Los Angeles and Montreal, Canada and now lives in New York's Chelsea. She began shooting still photographs after attending NYU film school.
Prior to her schooling, she gained an understanding and appreciation for the camera as a Ford model for 8 years, living in Paris, Milan, Hamburg, Tokyo and Sydney.
Leslie Hassler Studio is situated in an airy Chelsea loft. The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable.
Leslie photographs people. Actors, writers, corporate portraits, celebrity portraits for magazines, advertising and lifestyle. 
The vibe is loose with an emphasis on capturing honest, candid moments almost always with a sense of humor.
She shoots mostly outdoors on location but also in the studio.
Spending a great deal of time with her subjects before shooting, she is able to capture something intimate and revealing in those she photographs.
Although she has shot everything from travel to food, it will always be portraiture that continues to fascinate her. Her work has appeared in New York Magazine, Elle, The N.Y. Times, Entertainment Weekly, Bon Appetit, Madame Figaro and on the cover of G.Q.
